A Taste of Cuba

Havana, Cienfuegos, and Trinidad

Join us on a six-day adventure through the fascinating island of Cuba. For those who love eclectic architecture, antique cars, and a vibrant Caribbean culture, Cuba—the “pearl of the Antilles”—is not to be missed.

First, we explore the highlights of Old Town Havana and tour WMF Watch sites including the Santa Clara and Santa Teresa Cloisters, the embassy district of El Vedado, and Cuba’s National Art Schools. From Havana, our journey takes us to Cienfuegos, a laid-back city overlooking the bay. There we visit Reina Cemetery, a WMF Watch site, which serves as a reminder that many of Cuba’s most endangered sites are far removed from the spotlight of Havana. Next we explore Trinidad, once Cuba’s most important sugar-producing region, and the sugar mills of San Isidro and the Valle de Los Ingenios – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. For our final evening, we return to Havana and enjoy a cocktail reception at a beautifully restored home.

The timing of this journey is perfect for those who want to witness first-hand Cuba’s metamorphosis from a sheltered society into a twenty-first century country where iPhones and 1950's Chevys coexist. This six day itinerary will take you beyond Havana and give you a taste of Cuba's colonial past, rich culture, and industrial heritage.
