date & time

Location

Virtual Event

World Monuments Fund’s work at this site was made possible, in part, by American Express.

Join us for an online presentation and discussion of Watch Day at Puerto Rico's Central Aguirre Historic District with community groups IDEBAJO and Casa Comunitaria de Medios. The Spanish-language event will also feature a short documentary film Aguirre: ¿Para Quién? (Aguirre: For Whom?) that was created by residents of Aguirre.

The Central Aguirre was included on the 2020 World Monuments Watch, calling attention to the plight facing historic wooden structures in Puerto Rico and their communities in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. World Monuments Fund is collaborating with the State Historic Preservation Office of Puerto Rico (PRSHPO) in a training and rehabilitation project to promote the community’s resilience through restoration of the historic built environment. The film and presentation are part of Watch Day, a series of celebratory events organized by local communities at World Monuments Watch sites.

This event will take place in Spanish and is intended for Spanish-speaking audiences.
