Delhi: A Living Heritage showcases the abundance and the inter-related nature of Delhi’s heritage. The large amount of data generated by the Delhi chapter of the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) over the years has been collated along with the contribution from several domain specialists on various aspects of Delhi’s living cultural heritage. Presenting the collated material has been challenging, as the city’s historical and cultural narrative is complex, but its message is simple: the past and the present dovetail to define Delhi’s unique cityscape and together with the natural and intangible heritage of the city, it characterizes the “living heritage” of Delhi.
