Monumental Journeys

WMF’s signature trips, Monumental Journeys, take place over the course of several days, exploring current and past WMF projects in a specific region of the world. On Monumental Journeys, participants gain special access to WMF sites, exclusive visits to museums and private homes, and opportunities to take part in celebrations surrounding WMF projects.

Recent Monumental Journeys have included trips to Siem Reap, Cambodia to mark the occasion of project completions with a special dinner at an Angkor temple, to Egypt to explore archaeological projects in the less-accessible sites around Abydos, and to Peru to experience the remote region of Chachapoyas to learn about the pre-Incan culture that thrived there.

Escapades

These shorter trips focus on special occasions related to World Monuments Fund projects and take place over two to three days.

Examples include Escapades to Venice, Italy to view the Architectural Biennale and to Paris, France for special access to the Paris Photo photography fair.
